CodaHx
overview
This project was in partnership with a colleague who recently founded an AI-powered healthcare billing company. They requested designs and prototypes for their native app prior to development. I worked closely with the team and their pre-existing user research to streamline the user flow and identify key features needed on each page.

00. Goal
How can we help pregnant patients organize, understand, and plan their medical expenses?
01. Research
Through 6 user interviews, I was able to gather information on the major pain points for customers who order from bakeries. I synthesized these insights into personas and a journey map to better visualize my findings.

02. Ideation
After identifying a user flow, I drafted paper and digital wireframes to create a foundation for the app. I also prototyped the low-fidelity wireframes, which you can view here.

03. Mockups
From the lo-fi prototypes, we discovered a few usability improvements:
In the Onboarding page, it is easier for the user to view all available stages on one screen instead of having to scroll down to see later maternity stages.
Users want to view their insurance coverage and projected cost at a glance on the Homepage.
Users expressed the desire to see their maternity calendar from a 9-month view.
04. Final Prototype
• Onboarding flow to personalize experience
• Responsive progress bar to show number of steps left
• Home screen with quick action buttons
• Cost graph with toggle options to show incurred cost in relation to projected cost range and insurance coverage
• Pie chart to illustrate cost breakdown by type of maternity service
• Overview of previously uploaded bills with filtering by maternity phase capability
• Clear CTA to upload new bill
• Bill transparency to explain complex medical jargon to patients
• Visual filter feature to see appointments by maternity phase
• Color coded appointments
• Explanation of payments in event
